Luteal Spinster reflète la dimension symbolique de la phase lutéale du cycle menstruel. Il s'agit de la deuxième œuvre achevée d'une série de quatre dessins à grande échelle, chacun consacré à l'exploration d'une phase distincte du cycle menstruel (ovulation, lutéale, menstruelle, folliculaire). Pendant la phase lutéale, la muqueuse endométriale qui entoure l'utérus s'épaissit de plus en plus, comme une couverture sanguine riche et nutritive, se préparant à la possibilité de soutenir la vie. Ici une femme-loup tisse un fil à partir de son nombril: le cœur qui sort de son corps reflète la croissance du tissu endométrial qui se produit à ce moment du cycle.

Luteal Spinster reflects on the symbolic dimension of the Luteal phase of the menstrual cycle. It is the second completed work out of a series of four large-scale drawings, each dedicated to exploring a distinct phase of the menstrual cycle (ovulation, luteal, menstrual, follicular). During the luteal phase, the endometrial lining surrounding the uterus is thickening and thickening, like a rich and nutritious blood blanket, preparing for the possibility of sustaining life. In this case, a wolf woman spins thread out of her belly-button and the heart growing out of her body mirrors the growth of the endometrial tissue happening at this moment of the cycle.
