I work with ritualized and repetitive handbuilding processes influenced by my background in fiber practices. I find satisfaction in making labor-intensive processes visible, speaking to the intimacy of handwork. This work is part of a series of objects resulting from my research around ornament as a language and in using texture as structure rather than as an ornamental detail. By revisiting patterns as a structural element, I reaffirm their importance in the realm of aesthetics.
