Paras Vijan’s work begins as a reflection on contemporary society and personal experience, and evolves through deep research. Working mostly in photography and sculpture, Vijan’s installations focus on postcolonial South Asia, particularly, orchestrated historical events and their lasting effects. He is drawn to exploring extreme postcolonial subcultures of the 21st century, their neoliberal foundations, and their impact on contemporary life. His work probes conflicts emerging out of shifts in technology, time, and political ideology.
