Creating art allows Rox to process trauma and connect with others. In their work, they reveal deeply personal stories and share experiences of existing in diverse, marginalized, and unorthodox communities. Rox favours photography due to experiencing aphantasia, which prevents them from visualizing memories, and which means they obsess over documenting and collecting images. Their photo process ranges from slow, staged compositions to spontaneous snapshots, using colour film for its unique tonalities and textures. Rox also explores video art, performance art, and textiles to challenge their creativity. They prioritize accessibility in their practice, blurring lines between art and craft to explore themes of home, ecology, and the climate crisis. They are interested in creating engagement through grassroots projects, and are passionate about the possibilities of combining environmentalism and storytelling through art. Their projects manifest in books, installations, and prints. Rox draws inspiration from the artists, feminists, oddballs, and misfits before them, but above all their creativity is sparked by adventures shared with their closest friends.

Rox is a queer artist and activist of Italian-Anglo descent, born and raised on the lək’wəŋən peoples' territory (Victoria, BC). Their methods are rooted in community collaboration, producing work that weaves together writing, archives, and photography. In 2023 they earned a BFA in Photography (With Distinction) from Concordia University. Rox has exhibited across Quebec and has been published locally and internationally. Currently, they are self-publishing Ada’itx: Stories of a Blockade Community, an artists’ book featuring photos, letters, poems, and songs, from Fairy Creek land defenders. Rox aspires to create accessible spaces that reflect diverse perspectives.
