These drawings were made during a long performance in which Elijah Wood’s portrait was traced over repeatedly. The first copy is a duplicate of his face, while the last one it is reduced to a single line. The gesture explores self-alienation resulting from the contemporary proliferation of images. By replaying the physical relationship with the surface of the image, the aim is to make their structure visible.
