En 2021, j’ai organisé un événement dont le seul but était d’avoir accès à la culture rave locale en photographiant des personnes dansant sur de la musique techno. J’ai dit aux participant.e.s de s’habiller et de bouger comme s’iels étaient dans un rave. J’ai photographié chacun.e individuellement afin d’atteindre une mise au point précise et un aspect théâtral, artificiel. J’ai tenté de créer une sorte de réalité étourdissante dans laquelle chaque objet et chaque personne se révolte contre l’acte d’être photographié.e.

In 2021, I hosted an event whose sole purpose was to cut a slice of local rave culture by photographing people dancing to techno music. I told participants to dress and move as if they were at a rave. I shot everyone individually to achieve a sharp focus and a contrived theatrical look. I aimed to create a kind of nauseating reality in which every object and person revolts against the mortifying act of being photographed.
