La série photographique Endling constitue une anarchive de ces performances. Dans askanti 33 (partie 1), Batamu, émergeant d’un profond sommeil dans un état inconnu, explore la tristesse et les souvenirs de l’enfance à hier, cherchant une connexion matriarcale qui s’effrite. Par la photographie post-performance, Lomami recombine l’éphémère à travers documents, mouvements et souvenirs d’instants granulaires.

askanti 33 is a series of performances that reflect on the end of extended periods of time with family, significant personal events, and medical procedures that have shaped the artist’s life. The photographic series Endling is an anarchive of these performances. In askanti 33 (part 1), Batamu, emerging from a deep sleep into unknown status, discovers the memories, and the grief, of childhood through to the present. Lomami uses post-performance photography to reimagine ephemera, by way of documentation, gesture, conversation, and memories of the granular particular.
