Pendant près de deux ans à travailler sur la création de « Célèbres attractions touristiques » (2022-2023), Lajarrige a voyagé à travers le Canada et les États-Unis, fixant sa caméra sur un trépied et visant le ciel avec l’objectif de l’appareil au-dessus d’une série d’attractions touristiques patrimoniales, telles que le Rocher Percé, les Chutes Niagara et la Statue de la Liberté. Il a ensuite programmé une capture photographique automatisée, laissant la caméra prendre des images à intervalles réguliers jusqu’à ce que ses batteries soient complètement épuisées. For nearly two years working on the creation of “Famous Tourist Attractions,” Lajarrige traveled across Canada and the United States, attached a camera on a tripod, and aimed the device at the sky above a series of famous world heritage sites, such as the Rocher Percé, Niagara Falls, and the Statue of Liberty. He then programmed an automated photo capture, letting the camera take pictures at regular intervals until its batteries were completely drained. By minimizing decisions in the photographic process, he managed to free himself from a heavy technological burden and contemplate the landscape while reflecting on his role as a visitor of these places.
