In her work, Eva Tellier is interested in disciplines and forms traditionally considered feminine and minor, like ornamentation and decoration, the domestic and the artisanal. The point of departure for the creation of her sculptures are those utilitarian forms belonging to the domestic sphere, which she reinterprets through her handling of the material. With a gestural language that is ritualized and repetitive, she transforms these objects into totemic representations of her environment. She imagines this collection of dysfunctional objects as a utopian and modular landscape where the place of the motif, the ornamental and the haptic is returned to the center.

Eva Tellier is a French-Australian artist and artisan born in France. She holds a bachelor in Visual Arts - concentration in fibers, material practices and ceramics - from Concordia University, and works between France and Quebec.
