The images in this series were made while on a residency in Blairmore, Alberta, at the historic studio of Thomas Gushul, the community’s photographer from the early to mid twentieth centuries. The series not only reflect the history-laden appearance of the place, but makes reference to the legacy of the documentarian himself. This image contrasts the past prosperity of the region with its present utilitarian appearance.
